FYUGP at Lourde Institute of Science and Technology (LIST)

As an affiliated institution of Kannur University, Lourde Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) follows the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP) framework introduced from the 2024 admission year. The programme is implemented in accordance with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020 and the curriculum guidelines of the University Grants Commission.

The FYUGP structure provides flexibility, multidisciplinary learning, skill development, and research opportunities, enabling students to progress according to their academic interests and career goals.

Three-Year Undergraduate Programme(Degree)

Complete your studies in three years with a minimum of 133 credits and a maximum of 180 credits. Ideal for students aiming for faster entry into traditional postgraduate tracks.

  • Progression to 2-year PG Programme

Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (UG Honours)

Advanced specialization with research opportunities. Requires a minimum of 177 credits and a maximum of 240 credits.

Fourth Year Specialization:

  • • 11 advanced courses (4 credits each)
  • • OR 9 courses + Optional Research Project (8 credits)
  • Bachelor Degree (Honours) Awarded
  • Progression to 1-year PG Programme

Entry and Exit System

3-Year Exit

Exit after three years (approx. 133 credits) and receive a recognized Bachelor’s Degree.

4-Year Completion

Complete the full four-year programme (min. 177 credits) to receive a Bachelor’s Degree (Honours).

Flexible Pace

Extend completion up to 8 years. Take breaks and resume studies without losing academic progress.

Academic Bank of Credits (ABC)

The FYUGP framework integrates the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) system, where students’ academic credits are digitally stored. This system enables students to transfer credits between institutions and continue their education seamlessly, promoting greater flexibility in higher education.
